Chapman feels "rif-raf " weddings damaging brand

ChapmanI was at Chapman Golf Club yesterday afternoon and had a long chat with colleagues there. The guys I spoke to [which i can't mention by name] with insider information say Chapman Golf Club is concerned about the deteriorating standards.

They say a lot of people who are booking for weddings give a false impression of an exclusive wedding. Come wedding day the place suddenly gets overcrowded with people queuing up on the lawns for food... "lunch-plate" and coca cola bottle in hand. This is certainly not their idea of an exclusive wedding. In fact they call such weddings township weddings. "We are really annoyed by these township weddings" one of them told me.

Stringent mechanisms are now being introduced to ensure that the highest standards are maintained at the club.

If you plan to wed at Chapman a few tips;

  • Keep the standards high - stick to the guest list.

  • If you are planning to wed in 2010. Book now every weekend is occupied at Chapman.

  • Weddings are evening weddings only - during the day the place is in use by golfers.

  • Prepare between US$3.00 to $4.00 per head for venue only - no outside catering allowed. Will need a quote for food and drink.
Food for thought - What is a township wedding? What does it look like? leave your comment.

To Your Special day!
