The Vows, But Why have them??!

Hi there,

Today we're talking about vows. As is apparent, we all know that on your wedding day you HAVE to say something to one another. These days, unlike in the olden times, people now write their own vows... we believe these are more powerful than the ones done already which everyone says because with the ones that you write yourself, we believe you would have taken time to think what you are going to say and normally this comes from the heart hey? Not that with the vows that have been written already, the ones everyone says, it won't be coming from the heart, it will, but the ones you write yourself also add a special personal touch to the whole thing.
For our wedding, we did the traditional vows as well as personal vows which we wrote on our own which time and again we look at to see if we keeping our word!!

But why vows someone would ask. You see, a vow is your word, it's your honour, you are saying I'm going to do this and it's so very important for people to keep their word. You see, marriage is a covenant and when you speak those vows, you're saying this is what I'm going to do on my part of the covenant to keep this relationship going.

So there you have it. Think about what you say before you say it because words are powerful and carry weight, you had better mean what you are going to say to your spouse, whether you are going to use the traditional vows or your own personal heart-to-heart vows or both.

To your special day
