A bit on the Life After- Part 5
Hello there...
How are you today? We sure do hope you're well. This is our last part of the "A bit on the life after" series. To view the other four parts, please click on any one of the links (communication, marriage, etc..) at the bottom of the page and all the articles will be displayed for you.
In this the fifth and last part for now, we shall be talking about complementing one another. Everyone wants to be complemented, no doubt about that, but what makes it more special or, makes a difference is when your spouse does it. For example, on clothing, if someone was to say "today you're looking good" but your spouse says "I don't like what you're wearing, please change" whose words are most likely to stay stuck up in your mind? Obviously what your spouse has said. So you see, you have power to make or break your spouse. What you say to them can either boost their confidence or bring it down.
Find something to say to your spouse and encourage them. Haven't you noticed how, if someone is encouraged or praised, they perform even more, and try to even do much more than they were doing before? If you don't complement them on the good they do, they'll stop it, and what's more dangerous is if they get someone else elsewhere who will be complementing them, almost on a daily basis. Any "tiny" thing that your spouse does- husbands, when your wife cooks a good meal, tell her, wives- when your husbands helps you with the dishes, tell them and show your appreciation. This will definitely help us in not taking each other for granted.
So there you have it. These five parts of a bit on the life after where just a teaser, a tip of the ice-berg, to get you started in your marriage. Just a form of preparation also. Because marriage also needs to be prepared for in as much as we prepare for just the wedding day, because marriage is for eternity- "until death do you part!"
To your special day
Charlene & Aurther
